Information
Assisted living and over 55 communities are some of the fastest growing housing segments in the U.S. Economy. As the baby boomers age, the growth of facilities that cater to their needs is on the rise.
It is common for these facilities to require Digital Signage or Video Messaging systems designed to inform residents of activities and announcements. Many of these facilities support very active life styles with a variety of activities and services available to residents. What better way to communicate and promote those activities than with a video information channel. It is quite common for the local cable or satellite TV provider to supply channel space for a video bulletin board. By modulating a channel on an existing satellite or cable TV System, a facility is able to have their own video bulletin board for announcing activities and disseminating general information.
Often referred to as Resident Information Channels, displaying content on a dedicated in room channel is a very effective way for elderly residents with less mobility to stay informed and connected with the facility. Other facilities will opt for displaying this information in a common area. This is more of a classic Digital Signage application where the video displayed on Large Screen Plasma or LCD monitors in a common area such as a lounge or cafeteria.
