MagicBox, Inc. Goes to Super Bowl

January 23, 1997

Corvallis, OR

MagicBox, Inc., a producer of video display products, announces their involvement in the SuperBowl at the SuperDome in New Orleans. Their main product, the "Alphagen" is being used to display news and NFL information on over 600 monitors stationed throughout the SuperDome facility.

Originally designed as a community-information display system for local cable-TV stations, the Alphagen is now being sold into hotels, resorts, universities, and other large installations around the country. "We're very pleased with the way our products have been received", says Tom Searcy, President of MagicBox, Inc. The Alphagen has been adopted as a display system at many well-known companies, including Polariod, NASA, Michelin, Stanford University, Time-Warner, TCI, and the Monte-Carlo Casino.

The Alphagen at the SuperDome is being installed and operated by Cybernetic Services, Inc., in Chatsworth, CA. (www.silentradio.com) and TDI Communications in Metairie, LA. Cybernetic Services software, which uses the Alphagen as a display device, delivers news from satellite links to the video monitors in the Stadium. Joe Troia of TDI communications hopes to showcase the system to other stadium owners, "This SuperBowl is a launching pad for all of us."

"We've achieved our success by listening to our customers and delivering custom solutions whenever we can", says Bob Richardson, MagicBox, Inc.'s Development Director. "Rather than say 'No, that's not possible', we say 'Let's figure out what it will take to do this.'" MagicBox, Inc., accomplishes this through a world-wide network of programmers from Corvallis, to Denver, to Poland.
