At the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show held November 6-9, 1999 at The Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, MagicBox was a finalist in the Editor's Choice Awards for Best New Product. The product announced at the show was the Video Information Player (VIP).

The VIP is a cost effective messaging system designed to be used in a variety of applications including in-room and conference room messaging. The VIP system is made up of two parts. The first part is the creation software, which resides on the desktop of a Windows 95, 98, or NT PC. The second part of the system is the Player Unit itself, which plays back what has been created 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The system is designed to harness the power of the PC as a tool to create eye catching dynamic graphics, which are played back at specific times and dates.
