MagicBox Announces VIP Widescreen Support
MagicBox unveiled the new VIP Widescreen support at InfoComm 2000 in Anaheim, California.
Widescreen displays such as HDTV projectors and plasma displays can now be driven directly
from the VIP, with content created in either landscape or portrait mode. Two portrait
modes allow the user to rotate the monitor and hang it on the wall like a poster - great
for digital signage applications.
In additional, anamorphic display modes are supported - utilizing the maximum resolution
of the VIP while maintaining the proper proportions of the widescreen 16:9 monitors.
The VIP Composer Widescreen software supports 6 different widescreen display modes, plus
a new VGA 800 x 600 mode. Direct support for portrait modes is provided so that users don't
have to create content "sideways" for later display on a rotated monitor.
Special thanks to Rob Metz and the team at NEC for their assistance in the development
of the VIP Composer widescreen modes.
