MagicBox Introduces Support for Adtec MPEG Players

MagicBox announces that its Aavelin RT now supports the Adtec line of MPEG Players.

This feature allows the playback of MPEG clips, advertisements, and video presentations when the MagicBox Aavelin RT and the Adtec MPEG Player are connected to a TCP/IP network. The required TCP/IP connection allows the Aavelin RT unit to cue and play MPEG spots with millisecond accuracy, far superior to outmoded VCR-style spot playback.

The MPEG clips are designated like regular pages in an Aavelin project and scheduled to play using the Aavelin Composer Software. Once an MPEG file is selected the file name and duration are automatically displayed in the project’s thumbnail view making the clip easy to identify.

The MPEG clips are integrated with Aavelin RT’s Video Overlay feature, supporting transitions and text like normal pages. Video Overlay pages key through any text that is specified on the page including logo bugs, crawl lines, and imported graphics.

Aavelin’s support for MPEG playback represents a major feature for anyone wanting to insert MPEG video for advertising purposes. Cable companies can sell both still ads and full motion video on the same channel. The still video ads can be easily created and updated with great frequency at little or no cost with the MPEG spots interspersed throughout the Aavelin project.
