New Video In Progress — We are in the process of developing new marketing and training videos. The marketing video will focus more in depth on specific Aavelin features and options. The training video will be designed to assist customers right out of the box. We have also put together a new marketing and technical binder for Architects and Systems Designers. If you are interested in receiving one, please contact Tom Searcy directly at toms@magicboxinc.com.

New Time Server
The Aavelin now supports synchronizing with a network timeserver. With the latest version of the Aavelin Software, the Aavelin Unit will now automatically synchronize with a network timeserver once per day ensuring that the player will always display the accurate time. The timeserver will automatically account for daylight savings and leap seconds (a second as measured by an atomic clocK, added to or subtracted from Greenwich Mean Time in order to compensate for slowing in the Earth's rotation). To take advantage of this feature the Aavelin must be on a static IP address with access to the Internet. With this feature, the Aavelin can be the primary source of time display in many applications including schools and public access channels.

Audio/Follow Video—Ducker
The Aavelin RT now features expanded audio support in conjunction with it's extensive video capabilities. With multiple audio input connections, you can integrate background music into your presentation along with audio from your motion video sources, such as DVD players, MPEG players, and VCRs. When one of these audio/video sources is triggered by the Aavelin to play, the background music track is muted during event playback, and returns to its previous level once the triggered source has finished playing. This 'audio ducker' allows for a smooth transition between audio sources, and eliminates the need for additional outboard gear. Check out our White Papers for more detailed info.

USB Publishing—Part# AVUSB1, $75
The Aavelin now supports publishing of projects via USB. These devices — sometimes referred to as Mass Storage Devices or Mini Drives — are a great way to transfer content from your PC to the Aavelin. The USB 2.0 embedded flash drive comes with extension cables for both Aavelin and the PC to provide easy access to rear USB ports.

Customer Profile: Bayside Church
Bayside Church in Granite Bay California recently installed an Aavelin RT. They are one of the first churches to take full advantage of an Aavelin with video pass through. The audiovisual upgrade, which was installed by ATV Video out of Rocklin, California, includes a Drake closed circuit television system with video distribution to three buildings and the ability to broadcast to 70+ rooms.

The three channels of output include: a Direct TV channel of choice, a Service/Event Program, and of course, the Aavelin system that plays all the time.

Jon Bryant, Video Technician at Bayside Church states, “Our Aavelin System has played a huge part in our church. Announcements are broadcast to every television on our campus to display current events and activities.  We wanted an announcement system to notify our congregation of current and upcoming events." "Sometimes, we do not have enough time during a service to announce everything that is happening; our Aavelin system allows every ministry a chance to make their events known to everyone, 24/7.  We also use the system to display daily activities and classes that are being held on our church campus. The Aavelin system has made a huge impact and has been a major blessing to our church.”
