Heat Index:
For Aavelin customers with a weather package, the ability to display the Heat Index is now available. Heat Index is a calculation made using the temperature and humidity values to determine what the temperature ‘feels like’ to the human body. This feature came directly from a customer request and is available with all systems running 2.83 software.

Starting with any system that shipped with version 2.80 or later, software upgrades are included for the length of the entire warranty: 3 years

New Training DVD for Aavelin
The Training DVD covers all aspects of the Aavelin System, from content creation to set up of the Aavelin Player. It also includes separate sections for each option including MPEG Playback, Weather, Emergency Blast Remote Access Software, VCR/DVD Control and more. A training DVD ships with each Aavelin Unit and they are available for evaluation as well.
2.83 Software Available
The latest software update for the Aavelin is 2.83, available now! This release includes three major features:
- Recurring Events: This hotly requested feature enables the user to schedule multiple occurrences of an event such as Video Pass Through, a DVD event or even a single page with one entry. Click here for more information.
- Spell Check: Another hotly requested feature. Great for schools and PEG Access Channels.
- GIF and .PNG transparencies are now supported. Utilize transparency for non-rectangular graphics, making your image look like part of a professionally designed page. In addition, graphs and charts from Microsoft Office applications (Excel) can be saved as .GIF images that utilize the transparency feature. View an example of transparent graphics here.

Using Flash:
Analog Clock: Macromedia Flash support is creating many opportunities for system enhancement. One of those enhancements is the ability to display an analog clock – a very popular and hotly requested feature, especially for K-12 schools. Click here for more information.
Audio Support: Voice Over:
With the addition of Macromedia Flash support to the Aavelin, it is now possible to add a voice-over to a page within Aavelin Composer. A typical voice-over functions as narration for a page. It can be an audible reading of the text on a page, a jingle or song to accompany an advertisement, a supplement to the data presented on-screen, or something else entirely.
